Oak Cube side table

350.00

This is a very refined oak cube sidetable made from one solid piece of oak from the tree over 400 years old, the sides there is some beautiful burls showing the amazing texture in the wood that has built up over the many years of this trees life time. The cubeis set on four casters to help with mobility around the room.

The table is finished with my own blend of waxes and oils to bring out the natural colour of the wood but also to protect it from sunlight.

The cubes that I make are air dried for five years before I begin the carving the process of creating a square object.

This cube is exceptionally large compare to the other cubes that I make I’ve not cast any resin sculptures within it as I did not want to take away from the natural beauty of the wood. I usually make the cubes in a series of four or six so they can come together to make a small table or to be pushed around the room and can then be pulled out when they’re needed .

Cubes also make really interesting bedside tables or occasional tables for living rooms or other the spaces in your home the natural beauty of the wood attracts the eye which then makes the viewer want to touch the wood and explore the grain. Each side has a story to tell.
