Cherry & Oak repurposed dining tables with Sewing machines bases.

when in France I often find old dining tables that in excellent condition but désolé no longer wanted for there original use.

so as I also have a large stock of “machine coudre” I thought let’s make a effort to recycle both, so using the table first I dismantle the frame keeping all the parts(brackets screws as well made and can also be reused.

Then to saw the table tops to fit the sewing machine frame. The next stage is to prepare the back of the unit make anew oak panel for the rear of the table. Then to clean and spray the sewing table

.

The final stage is to clean and rewax the cherry table top and fix to its new base. I use my own product for finishing my table tops it’s a blend of oils and waxes to bring out the wood and protect at the same time.

The two tables will be on sale on my website in a couple of weeks.

This is how the design will look, I still need to cut the top to reduce it width.
