Oak Burl (natural form) recovered from a tree by my cousin Justin Quarless on the Wirral in 2013. After a long period of drying out the piece. I began to remove the outer core of wood, allowing the shape to come to light and removing the outer surface.
The piece has amazing detail from delicate swirls of grain. to subtle twists the hollow is formed naturally and is a very unusual growth in the life of a tree burl. We put the age of treee at around 300 years.
Finished with Tung Oil
